What is a Binance trading journal?
A Binance trading journal is a record of every trade you've placed on Binance, scored so you can see what's working. The version most traders run is a spreadsheet they paste fills into by hand, which means it's always a week behind and quietly drops the funding fees on perps.
TMM does the recording for you. Connect once and your spot, USDⓈ-M futures, and COIN-M futures history loads on its own, then keeps syncing as you trade.
How TMM auto-imports your Binance trades
You generate a read-only API key inside Binance and paste it into TMM. That's the whole setup. Here's the order:
- •Log in to Binance and open Account → API Management.
- •Create a new API key and give it a label like "TMM journal."
- •Leave permissions at Read Only / Enable Reading. Do not tick "Enable Spot & Margin Trading" or anything mentioning withdrawals. TMM never needs to place an order or move a coin, so the key can't.
- •Copy the API Key and the Secret Key (Binance shows the secret once, so grab it then).
- •Paste both into TMM and connect.
What you can track
Everything Binance lets you trade shows up: spot pairs, USDⓈ-M perpetuals and quarterlies, and the COIN-M coin-margined contracts that settle in BTC, ETH, and friends. On the perps, TMM logs each funding payment as it's charged, so a position you held through six funding windows reflects all six.
Per trade and per account you get:
- •Net PnL after funding and fees — the real result, not gross
- •Win rate and average win vs. average loss
- •R-multiple on every position so you can see if your winners pay for your losers
- •Equity curve across spot and futures combined
- •Per-symbol breakdown so your BTCUSDT stats don't hide behind your altcoin punts
| Manual spreadsheet | TMM journal | |
|---|---|---|
| Funding tracked | ❌ Usually dropped | ✅ Every window, per position |
| Trade import | ⚠️ CSV export + paste | ✅ Auto-sync via read-only key |
| Stays current | ❌ Always a week behind | ✅ Keeps syncing as you trade |
| Spot + futures combined | ⚠️ Separate tabs | ✅ One timeline |
| Net PnL | ⚠️ Gross only | ✅ After funding and fees |
Why traders use TMM for Binance
Funding-true PnL is the headline. A manual Binance journal counts your entry and exit and calls it done; TMM subtracts the funding you paid (or adds what you earned) so the equity curve matches your actual balance.
From there, the AI coach reads your Binance history and points out the patterns you'd rather not see, like the revenge longs after a red day. Your public profile is exchange-verified, so the stats you show are pulled from real fills, not typed in — climb the leaderboards on results you can prove. You join 170,000+ traders already running their journals here, and the free tier covers the core journal while Pro adds the deeper analytics when you want them.
